The Jackson Lumen Christi hockey team battled through a demanding regular season that tested their resilience from start to finish. Facing one of the toughest schedules in the state, the Titans finished 6-19-2, a record that didn’t fully reflect the grit and growth they showed along the way. Night after night, they lined up against powerhouse programs, gaining experience and toughness that would later define their postseason run. While the regular season had its challenges, the adversity forged a tighter, more determined group heading into the playoffs.
When the postseason began—what the players proudly called “THE OFFS”—the Titans flipped the script. They rallied off two hard-fought wins, powered by standout performances on both ends of the ice. In those first two crucial playoff victories, goaltender Michael Palmer delivered back-to-back shutouts, giving the Titans the defensive backbone they needed to advance. Offensively, Luke Dumont also reached a major milestone during the run, recording his 100th career point. The surge earned the Titans a shot at a regional championship.
Their season ultimately came to an end in a hard-fought battle against East Grand Rapids High School, but not without leaving everything on the ice. Reflecting on his final moments in a Titans jersey, Dumont said, “You know the feeling wasn’t great because of the loss, but I was glad to know how hard me and my team fought until the end.” Though the scoreboard didn’t favor them, their fight, unity, and late-season surge defined a team that refused to quit.
