If you’ve ever walked past the small pavilion across Christi Creek, you probably didn’t think much of it. For most students, it’s always been a quiet “off-limits” area — more mystery than meeting spot. But that might be about to change.
Over the summer, Mr. Learned and Mr. Rajzer met with Steve Artz from the Knights of Columbus to talk about improving the space. Then, just recently, they met again with Fr. Miguel and the Grand Knights from several local councils, including Summit Township, to keep the project moving forward.
The Knights are planning to build an in-ground walking rosary around the pavilion, with a statue of Mary at the center. They already have some funding lined up and are hoping to repurpose a statue from another parish or school to make it even more meaningful.
Another big part of the plan is building a safe, ADA-accessible bridge across the creek so that everyone can enjoy the area without worry.
There isn’t a set timeline yet, but the hope is to turn what used to be a forgotten corner of campus into a peaceful place for prayer, reflection, and community.
So next time you walk by Christi Creek, take another look — that little pavilion might soon become one of LC’s most special spots.
