The boys’ cross country team has big goals for the season. Senior Christian Warner is focused on pack running—keeping teammates close together during races to strengthen their overall score—and qualifying for the state meet. He has seen impressive growth in his teammates, especially sophomore Soren Crosthwaite. “Soren’s been stepping up all year,” he said. Beyond practice, the team bonds by hanging out, grabbing meals, and spending time at each other’s houses. “The seniors and upperclassmen have really stepped up as leaders,” he added.
Senior Gibson Shore shares similar goals, aiming to run in the low 16s and capture a state championship. He also sees the progress in Soren and emphasizes the team’s close-knit nature. “We have team dinners and hang out a lot, which helps us stay connected.” Reflecting on last season, Gibson mentioned how being sick affected his performance, but now he’s back and ready to compete. “My times are back, and I’m coming for it all,” he said.
With strong leadership from seniors like Gibson Shore, Karl Swager, and Peter Soltis, along with a united team spirit, the cross country team is ready to take on the state meet and give it their all.
