Sophomore Avery Morrow has a great passion for Cross Country. He started running for cross country at the beginning of his seventh grade year. His love for the sport keeps growing every year. The more he runs the more his love grows for this sport. He loves the friendships he has built on this team throughout the years.
If Avery had one word to describe cross country, it is just simply “great”. He says, “although the sport is very difficult, it is very rewarding because you get to share the experience with your teammates.” The team is like a family – everyone knows each other very closely. Whenever a teammate is down, they are always there for one another. This sport compares to no other for him.
Avery’s best time for running the 5k is 17:30.2. At the Lakeveiw invite this year, Avery placed 11th with a time of 17:32.8 for the 5000 meter. Avery says “when the gun goes off all of us are there to win, together.” It took him a while to find the sport he loves, but now he is passionate about it.
