The Lumen Christi hockey team has a game every year that is more than just a game. It is a day of hockey and fundraising for CS Mott Children’s Hospital-Pediatric Oncology in memory of Kellen McCord. Students get in free thanks to the generous sponsors, but are encouraged to bring a donation. The game raised over $2,000 for this great cause. The game was on Saturday, December 2nd against the Eastside Stars.
The Titans were in for a close one at the start with a score of 1-1. It was an intense game until midway through the third period where junior, Josh Dumont, scored a goal to get the team up 2-1. Not long after junior, Brodie Gregory, scored an insurance goal to build on the Titans’s lead. It was a great game as the Titans won 3-1, but was also a great night for people to come together and fight against cancer.
