Varsity Men’s Soccer Big Win

The team beats Columbia Central, 3-0.

The Titans soccer team matched up against the Columbia Central Eagles on Saturday, August 28th. The Titans fought hard the whole game and had the majority of the possession, despite having just 10 players. The offense was led by captain and senior Karl Hunt and senior Travis Frederick. The Titans defense, led by captain and senior Andrew Reese, was above average against the Eagles. Junior goalkeeper Matthew Whitton managed to secure the shutout.

The Titans lined up with a 3-2-3-1 formation.  Their offense was outstanding, recording more than 8 shots in the first half! The attacking 4, led by Karl Hunt, Jesus Tavera, Elliott Stevens, and Travis Frederick danced around the defense to score the first goal of the season in the first 15 minutes of the game. Jesus Tavera assisted Travis Frederick’s goal and another to Karl Hunt. Karl Hunt had an outstanding game scoring 2 goals and creating plays.

The varsity men’s soccer team, coached by Chuck Stevens, has big plans for the season. The Titans added 3 more kids to the roster filling up 11 spots on the field and 2 more spots on the bench. The Titans are planning to have a total of 8 regular season games and more tournament games. The team plans on taking a district title home for the first time in 8 years.
