Lumen’s Got Talent

Squad 2 gets the victory after Lanni Velasco-Cook brings down the house.

Lumens+Got+Talent

Friday seminar today saw an abundance of Lumen talent. Each squad had up to two participants each to compete in the talent show. Lilly Beebe and Jackson Reese performed a rap from Hamilton. Squad 2 had Christian McClear performing “Despacito” on the piano and Lanni Velasco-Cook singing “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. Squad 3 had Madison Sorek, who sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. Michael Guinn performed while lifting weights, providing for some unintentional humor. Then Connor McIntire sang and played guitar on  “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver.

Each group brought worthy competitors. Connor McIntire played a crowd favorite, which did get everyone clapping and singing along. Mike Guinn even recognized the moment and came back to the stage to lift a few more weights during the song. Madison Sorek sang a wonderful acapella rendition of “Hallelujah”, but it was Lanni Velasco-Cook who brought the school to its feet with her version of “Crazy”.

Squad 2 – you have earned a dress-down day. Make sure you congratulate those who made it possible for you!
